community news

reimagining uniswap governance: in august, we proposed the creation of duni, a wyoming duna designed to give uniswap governance formal legal recognition while preserving decentralization, permissionlessness, and credible neutrality. this week, the proposal went live for voting. we’re excited about what can unlock for uniswap governance. and we’re committed to advocating for greater regulatory clarity for onchain communities. on tuesday, alongside a broad coalition of builders, we shared a letter urging the us treasury and irs to provide accessible legal pathways for daos. you can read the full sign on letter here, and coin your support.

we say this a lot, but we love wyoming. with the passage of the duni proposal, uniswap governance will be the largest dao to adopt the duna framework. to learn more: check out the duni-pedia, get a live guide to duna, or read through faqs.

reputation matters: fahad and brad dive deep with julien and boyang to discuss their new restaking research (one of three papers funded through the ctce grant initiative). they unpack how reputation mechanisms discipline operators when slashing isn't enough, explore the economics of delegated vs. native stake, and reveal data-driven insights on operator behavior, plus practical guidance for avs design and hybrid staking models. watch the interview here.

dynamic fees in action: as part of the hdl, aegis launched in july as a dynamic fee hook. since then, its delivered 0.04% vs 0.05% execution costs with halved adverse selection versus fixed fees. during volatility, surge fees activate while spreads stay tight for other users.

full stack security for uniswap builders: ufsf grantee olympix is supporting builders with security tooling, alongside audit grants. uniswap ecosystem teams now get full access to olympix tools, enterprise-grade static analysis, ai-powered test generation, mutation testing, fuzzing, and ongoing support for real world workflows.

on the rwa moment: chirag, uf’s head of growth, spoke at bass sbc about defi's readiness for tokenized rwas. check it out here.

where defi’s next era begins: the hook product accelerator is a 6-week pilot program for defi founders building the next wave of products on uniswap. run by atrium, with support from the uf, the focus is simple: help founders validate their projects, find traction, and build strong businesses from the ground up. the first cohort wrapped this week, shoutout to: eirene (@rahulbarmann, @vansh_sahay,) frontrun this, gorillionaire, harbor (lighthouse labs), levery, licredity, lp hub (@0xkdev, @k_f_0909), lumis, numo, superdca, svf, vii finance, and yolo. interested in joining the next cohort? You can apply here.

by the way: if you’re building with v4 on world, you should apply to world build 2. hackers can receive up to $200k in grants from world foundation, with fully funded trips to buenos aries and sf. applications are open through september 24. and if your project is ready for audit, the ufsf september cohort is accepting applications through this sunday, september 7. apply here.

and we love to see it: the uniswap protocol crossed $50b in ethereum l2 volume last month, marking a new all-time high.

interview: what duna means for daos

daos are pioneering a new way for communities to coordinate and govern. but without legal recognition, daos often run into real-world roadblocks. who signs a contract? who owns the intellectual property? how do you pay service providers? and how do you make sure governance participants are protected? to break it all down, devin, brian, and erin led a livestream session on the duna, and how it impacts onchain communities. full recording here. some of our key takeaways below.

recognition without compromising decentralization:

"we hope that the creation of duni will offer many of the benefits of legal status certainty... but what's key is they'll also preserve some of the key characteristics inherent to daos, like permissionless and anonymity."

greater protection can unlock participation:

"the vast majority of that uni sits basically not doing anything in governance... having spoken to delegates of all sizes, we know that a big reason that could be the case is because of this specter of liability that participation could bring."

clarity can drive broader dao innovation:

"we see this as an opportunity to create clarity, not just for uniswap, but hopefully we see other daos follow in our footsteps... to provide similar protections to their own delegates and governance participants."

you can just build things (on unichain)

multichain assets on unichain: hype and sol are now live on the pink chain, powered by wormhole. bridge via portal, and earn uni incentives.

seamlessly swap usdc and usdt: unichain launches on allbridge core, opening up new cross-chain opportunities for builders and users.

lp rewards evolved: fairflow launched on uniswap v4, offering lps more than just fees through equilibrium gain (reclaiming arbitrage profits), liquidity mining rewards, and additional yields without staking. experience it on kyberswap here.

clank everywhere: last month, clanker and bankr went live on unichain. chase and niko caught up with the team to learn more about what it takes to make token launches easier. livestream here.

unimons are leveling up: unimon v2 mini app launched on farcaster - explore uniland, evolve your monsters, and acquire 50+ powerful items to prepare for the upcoming war. you can still mint your unimon on unichain rn.
